Installation

How to install NotebookLM Web Importer on Chrome and Firefox

Browser Support

NotebookLM Web Importer is available for:

  • Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera, etc.)
  • Mozilla Firefox

Chrome Installation

  1. Visit the Chrome Web Store
  2. Click "Add to Chrome"
  3. Confirm by clicking "Add extension" in the popup
  4. The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar

Firefox Installation

  1. Visit Firefox Add-ons
  2. Click "Add to Firefox"
  3. Confirm by clicking "Add" in the popup
  4. The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar

After Installation

Once installed, you'll see the NotebookLM Web Importer icon in your browser toolbar. Click it to:

  • Import the current webpage to NotebookLM
  • Access bulk import features
  • Manage your notebooks
  • Configure extension settings

Permissions

The extension requires the following permissions to function properly:

  • Active tab: To read content from the current webpage
  • Storage: To save your preferences and notebook data
  • Host permissions: To communicate with NotebookLM and external services

These permissions are only used to provide the core functionality and your data remains secure.

Troubleshooting Installation

If you encounter issues during installation:

  1. Chrome: Ensure you're using Chrome version 88 or later
  2. Firefox: Ensure you're using Firefox version 91 or later
  3. Corporate networks: Contact your IT administrator if installation is blocked
  4. Ad blockers: Temporarily disable ad blockers during installation
